A Plan for the Week

I keep searching for some deep, inspiring quote or message to enlighten you as I struggle to get back into writing and back into sharing. Deep down, I know that this newsletter and writing are two things that bring me a tremendous amount of joy but it’s hard work…and super hard to re-start the engine. Then I realize, aha. Therein lies the message.

Getting started or restarted often is the hardest part. I expect perfection out of the gate. Months of negative self-talk leave me wondering. Why did I ever stop writing (maybe exercising, meditating, eating healthy for you)? How did this writing hiatus (closet chaos, therapist break) go for so long? Why can’t I keep a commitment to myself (my family, my work)?

And then I realize, I just have to start because you don’t expect perfection. You aren’t concerned that I took a writing hiatus. You understand that internal and external commitments can be hard to keep. You’re human, too. And ultimately, you’re just glad to hear from me again...I hope!

Must have...A Plan for the Week. The people have spoken and you like a clean, crisp chart as much as I do! Charts are the key to my happiness and often, the key to my productivity. This chart encourages you to:

  • focus on your weekly musts/wishes at home and at work

  • prioritize your exercise

  • plan your meals (I include lunch because my best self does not eat leftover kids grilled cheese edges everyday)

  • perfect your gratitude practice

Must listen...Kelly Corrigan Wonders. If you've followed for a while, you know I love (mildly obsess) over all things Kelly. Her writing makes you feel like she's in your house, writing about your life at times. Her interviewing makes you think she might be the best listener ever and just. so. darn. real.

Must watch...Safety. This inspired by a true story, tear jerking, heart warming movie is great for the whole family. In such times of divisiveness, this movie reminds us that we can come together. Just be sure to serve your popcorn with a side of Kleenex.

So here you have it. Round 1 of the 2021 newsletter series. Perfect? No. Complete? Yes.

What can you kickstart this week by letting go of the negative chatter? By believing you deserve a fresh start or re-start?

Download (and print!) your chart now and let's get started.

With love and an encouraging nudge,
Laura
